He is a legendary American icon, the first star that comes to mind when it comes to wrestling – Hulk Hogan. He and his wife divorced back in 2009, but the drama from their relationship continues to be in the spotlight.
The star wrestler’s ex, Linda Hogan, has written what’s supposedly an autobiographical book about her marriage to one of the world’s favorite wrestlers. Among various allegations in her book, Hogan claims that she was a victim of domestic violence at the hands of Hulk Hogan.
In 2005, the Hogan family starred in a VH1 reality show, making it hard to believe for some that any violence was going on between the couple. The family had its difficulties, but overall, the situation appeared to be pretty peaceful.
In a TV interview with Matt Lauer, Linda Hogan answered why she is coming forward now with these claims against her ex. She says that because she’s out of marriage now, she doesn’t have to worry as much about how the alleged truth would affect the young kids, her own safety or her ex’s career.
Linda Hogan attributes her ex’s violence to his work in the wrestling world. Wrestlers get hurt all of the time and are prescribed pain pills. She claims that Hulk’s consistent use of prescription drugs affected his temper. She also suggests that steroids contributed to his violent mood swings.
In response to his ex-wife’s inflammatory claims, Hulk reportedly told sources that he has never physically harmed her. He insinuates that she is trying to make some money off of his name.
